From The Artist:

With a deepest respect I would like humbly to express my thanks to Father Stanislaw Parfienczyk for introducing me to Divine Mercy. Without his spiritual support I wouldn't be able to do my work. I would like to dedicate to him this CD of "Divine Mercy".

Alice Strejcek has shared her many gifts with me as teacher and friend. She gave me the image of a note floating effortlessly on a fountain of air. The column of air is what we singers call "appoggio". The grace of this image adds a dimension of play to the muscular concept of support we strive so hard to attain. Alice teaches traditional Italian "Bel canto" technique; at the root of her teaching is a light, focused sound centered on the "u" vowel. This is the bud before the bloom. From this sound the other vowels evolve and the fullness of the voice is developed. As a devotee of Bell Canto, Alice Strejcek sings with lyricism and power, simplicity and reverence. She sings a beautiful song. -Carol Hedden
On April 22, 2001, at St. John the Baptist in Salem, Massachusetts, I performed a concert of sacred songs following the devotion of "Divine Mercy". I was greatly moved by this devotion's depth and spirituality, especially the Chaplet and Litany. Later, the pastor of this Polish/American church, Fr. Stanislaw Parfienczyk, encouraged me to compose a music for Divine Mercy. Inspired by prayer and meditation, I composed this music in Fr. Stanislaw's church, in the presence of a beautiful statue of the Virgin Mary and the glow of many candles. I truly believe that through music we become closer to God and that music is one way for grace to enter our hearts. The deep spirituality of the Devotion of "Divine Mercy", spreading all around the world, reminds us of how important it is to live simply and honestly with Love and an open heart as we follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. Our real wealth isn't vested in material possessions, but in our work for God. "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6, 33.)
